Sunshine Coast Wooden Boat Festival

The Sunshine Coast Wooden Boat Festival, now an annual event, was started in 2004 by a group of people who love wooden boats, so named: the Sunshine Coast Old Woodies Society (SCOWS) Now acting as a sub commettie of the Sunshine Coast Marine Rescue Society (SCMRS) The Wooden Boat Festival is jointly organized and staffed by voulenteers from both SCOWS and the SCMRS.

In 2004 the first annual Sunshine Coast Wooden Boat Festival played host to over 19 wooden boats and about 2000 guests. Following this overwhelming success in its first year, the festival planned to continue to grow.

2005 saw over 20 boats and over 2000 guests enjoyed a more extensive show. Following this overwhelming success in its first two years, the festival is sure to continue to grow and delight participants and guests alike in the years to come.
