Frequently Asked Questions
 My
site is already listed but I didn't list it. How did it get listed
and can I change the listing information?
Your site is listed because we found it, liked it, adn added
it to the directory. If you want to change, add to or remove your
listing just email us and we'll take care of your needs. Make to
reference the location of your listing. The easiest way to do that
is to cut and paste the page url that appears in the browser window
when you view your listing.
Do
you offer premium listings to put my site at the top of the page?
Currently BDS does not offer preferred listings. We will consider
offering such listings in order to cover our web hosting cost but
if so they will be placed on a first come first serve basis.
Listing
Requirements: A web site is required for inclusion. Your web
site or business must be about the boating, sailing, yachting or
fishing industry.
Sites
We Don't List: We do not publish listings for sexually explicit
material or directory sites. The Boating & Sailing Directory
reserves the right to refuse any submission we deem inappropriate,
offensive or otherwise not suitable for listing with BSD. If your
site is rejected you will not receive notice of the rejection. IF
you have submitted a site and are curious about the status of the
submission you can email us with an inquiry.
Multiple
Submissions: Do NOT submit more than one page from your site.
If you submit multiple pages we will not list your site and we will
ban your site from further submissions. Multiple submissions of
a site already included in the directory may result in your listing
being removed and your site being banned from the directory.
Changes
To Your Listing: We like to keep our directory as current as
possible. We do accept modifications to listings that already appear
in the directory. If you need to change your listing you can login
using the username and password you entered when you submitted your
web site to BSD.
Dead
Links: If you list a web site and the link becomes inactive
or stops working we will be notified by our directory script and
then remove your listing manually. Make certain your links remain
active and that you submit changes if you make any changes that
would cause a previously submitted link to become inactive. This
can result in removal of your link.
Multiple
Category Submissions: You may submit to more than one category.
A free listing at BSD gets you a position in the category or categories
you have selected provided those categories are appropriate for
your submission. If your site is appropriate for a category not
currently represented, you may suggest a new category for your listing.
Submission
Review: Each submission to BSD will be reviewed to determine
whether it is appropriate for this directory and the categories
you have selected. We will try to get your listing posted as quickly
as possible. If we have a backlog of sites to review prior to listing
it may take 1-4 weeks for your listing to appear in the directory.
FREE
Listings are placed in alphabetical order in the FREE listings
section of each page.
Preferred
Listings will be placed at the top of each category on a first
come first served basis. Payment for a Preferred listing entitles
you to placement of your listing in the Preferred section the category
page you have selected as well as placement in the FREE listing
section of the category. Your Preferred link will retain its position
on the page as long as your fee is paid annually. Failure to renew
will result in removal of your Preferred link and loss of positioning.
Failure to pay the annual fee on renewal will not affect the placement
of your FREE submission.
Problems
& Questions: If there is a problem or you have a question
we will contact you so make certain you carefully enter your contact
information. If we have a question and are unable to reach you,
your site will not be listed.
Privacy
Statement: We do not, and will not, sell trade
or otherwise disseminate information collected from listings posted
with the Boating & Sailing Directory.
